Michael D. Gallagher, Special Address,

Information Administration, has worked
closely with the FCC, other federal
agencies and industry on top-level
spectrum policy matters such as
ultrawideband, 3G, and doubling the
amount of spectrum available for Wi-Fi.

Vern Fotheringham, President and CEO
of Kaon Systems, Inc., is a recognized
industry leader and entrepreneur in the
broadband communications industry.
Prior to this, he was President and CEO
of Broadstorm Telecommunications, Inc.
a company pioneering in high-speed
mobile IP network technology.
James Grams is Senior Vice President
for Multimedia Network and Systems
within AT&T Wireless Services’ new
Multimedia division. He oversees
technology development of wireless
voice and data capabilities for a new
generation of services that capitalize on
emerging wireless technologies and
devices, such as GPRS, EDGE and
Wideband CDMA.
Tren Griffin is Telecom Strategist in the
Office of Microsoft Corporation’s CTO
and Senior Vice President for Advanced
Strategies and Policy, Craig Mundie. Mr.
Griffin focuses on planning and analysis
of telecommunications and network
services for Microsoft in both wired and
wireless environments. His role includes
overseeing strategic initiatives relating to
the cellular, Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, USB, and
wire line industries, and formulating
communications policy strategy.
Nancy Jesuale is President of NetCity
Engineering Inc., a design and
engineering practice for local government
networking, specializing in public safety
infrastructure and broadband fiber
networks for voice, data, and CLEC
applications. She is also the program
manager for public safety for the Center
for Wireless Network Security at Stevens
Institute of Technology.
Dan Lowden is Vice President of
Marketing and Carrier Development for
Wayport Inc., overseeing all marketing
communications and roaming development
initiatives. He also drives awareness
and revenue for Wayport’s products and
services at each Wayport-enabled
property. Since 2001, Lowden has been
instrumental in increasing Wayport’s
customer base to more than 5 million
customer connections.
Paul Morris serves as Executive Director
to UTOPIA a governmental entity created
by 17 Utah cities to study and build a
wholesale fiber optic network to all
homes and businesses within the member
cities. Since 1983 he has served as the
City Attorney for West Valley City, Utah.
He currently serves as the Chair of the
Utah League of Cities and Towns
Telecommunications Task Force.
John B. Muleta is Chief of the Federal
Communications Commission’s Wireless
Telecommunications Bureau (WTB).
FCC Chairman Michael K. Powell
appointed him to this position in January
2003. Prior to that, Mr. Muleta was
President and CEO of Source 1
Technologies LLC, a privately held
systems integration firm based in
Washington, D.C. He was also a
cofounder of OI Systems Inc., a
Washington-based management
consulting firm.
Joel Paisner, Of Counsel at Ater Wynne
LLP, works with companies, municipalities
and cooperatives in developing,
siting, building and operating communication
networks including broadband,
wireless and cable networks. He has
served as in-house counsel to InterNAP
Network Services, and as Vice President
of WinFirst, one of the first Fiber-to-the-
Home cable overbuilders.
Lonnie Rosenwald is a Vice President in
the Corporate Development group at
AT&T Wireless Services, Inc. Prior to
joining the Corporate Development
group, she was Chief Technology
Counsel for AT&T Wireless, and a
member of the Intellectual Property
group at Preston Gates and Ellis.
Jon Russo, Vice President of Marketing,
leads global marketing, channel strategy,
corporate communications, and strategic
alliance teams for iPass. With more than
15 years of leadership experience in the
security, software, and telecommunication
industries, he joined iPass in 2001
after serving as vice president of data and
internet marketing for Frontier Communications,
where he drove strategies and
products in data, web, managed security,
and IP services to $170 million in
revenue.
David Schoolcraft is a member of the
business department at Miller Nash LLP,
with a practice focused on corporate
representation, technology, health care
and data privacy. His practice involves
representing companies in mergers,
acquisitions, distribution arrangements
and general corporate matters. In the
technology area, he structures and
negotiates e-commerce transactions,
drafts software licensing agreements,
joint ventures and distribution agreements
for Internet-based applications.
Adrian Smith is a Principal at Ignition,
where he invests in telecommunications
and wireless companies. Prior to Ignition,
he worked on the development of IS-136
TDMA from the initial concept and
development, through the TIA standards
process, and finally onto field trials,
phone testing and system readiness for
commercial launch. He has been involved
in the circuit switched data, packet data,
thin client architecture and browser
transport mechanisms for integrated voice
and data solutions in IS-136 and is the
author of a number of patents associated
with IS-136 technology.
Craig Walker joined Dialpad Communications,
Inc. as Chief Executive Officer
from Headland Ventures where he was a
general partner. Prior to that, he was at
TeleSoft Partners where he focused
exclusively on Internet and telecommunications
companies. Prior to becoming a
venture capitalist, he was a corporate and
securities attorney.
Kathryn Zachem leads Wilkinson Barker
Knauer’s efforts to be at the forefront of
regulatory developments at the Federal
Communications Commission. Her
experience spans the various Bureaus of
the FCC Common Carrier, International,
Wireless, Cable, Office of Engineering
and Technology, Office of Plans and
Policy, and the recently-created
Enforcement Bureau.
Fred Ziari is Founder and CEO of IRZ
Technologies, and EZ Wireless LLC.
Established in 1984, EZ Wireless has
designed and operates one of the first and
largest City-wide broadband wireless
systems in the nation, covering nearly
600 square miles. EZ Wireless, LLC and
Mr. Ziari have been featured and named
among the top ten largest wireless
systems in the Nation by Newsweek
Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle,
