Jeffrey B. Rosen, Program Co-Chair, is a shareholder at Polsinelli, White, Vardeman & Shalton. He
practices in the areas of construction litigation and government
contract law and chair's his firm's Litigation Department. He
has successfully litigated several multi-million dollar construction
lawsuits.
G. Steven Ruprecht, Program Co-Chair, Niewald, Waldeck & Brown, practices in the areas of construction
law, fidelity and surety bond defense and commercial litigation.
He has represented contractors in numerous owner/contractor and
contractor/subcontractor defaults and disputes.
Rudolf H. Beese, Wallace, Saunders, Austin, Brown & Enochs, is a member of the
firm's Construction Law Practice Group and Business Practice Group.
His practice includes commercial litigation with an emphasis in
the technical professions and economic development-related issues.
C. Robert Bell is District Court Judge in the 18th Judicial District of Kansas
(a general jurisdiction trial court) since 1989. He was a general
practitioner from 1958 to 1998 with experience in all areas except
admiralty and patent law, including both office and trial experience
in substantial construction matters.
Sherman A. Botts, Lathrop & Gage LC, focuses his practice on construction law
including claims for delay, differing site conditions and extra
work, bid protests, Miller Act and payment performance bond claims,
warranty claims and mechanic's lien claims.
Michael T. Callahan is President of CCL Construction Consultants, Inc., a firm that
specializes in construction project management and the resolution
of construction and design claims. A worldwide lecturer on construction
management and dispute resolution, he has co-authored numerous
books on the construction process.
Denise E. Farris, a litigator specializing in construction law, formed the Farris
Law Firm in 1996. She continues her practice in the areas of construction
law business litigation. She was appointed Vice-Chairperson for
the Missouri Bar Construction Law Committee in 1997.
Gregory S. Gerstner, Seigfreid, Bingham, Levy, Selzer & Gee, has extensive experience
in drafting and negotiating terms of construction-related contract
documents. He handles many types of construction-related disputes.
Darcy V. Hennessy is a shareholder in the law firm of Moore Brower Hennessy & Freeman
PC. She practices in the areas of government contract law, construction
law, fidelity and surety law, business and international law.
She has taught Government Contract Law for the University of Missouri
at Kansas City for 11 years.
Mark D. Hinderks is a shareholder in the office of Stinson, Mag & Fizzell PC.
He practices in the area of commercial litigation, including construction
disputes, and has successfully defended and prosecuted multi-million
dollar construction cases concerning quality of performance, design
and delay issues.
David J. Kornelis is a partner in the law firm of Armstrong Teasdale LLP. He handles
primarily commercial law and litigation matters, with special
emphasis on the commercial and industrial construction industry.
Walter H. Lovell is Vice President of CCL Construction Consultants, Inc., a firm
which concentrates in construction scheduling, project management
and analysis, audit and resolution of construction claims disputes.
A practicing engineer and project manger, he has prepared engineering
reports, cost estimates and project plans and specifications.
Daniel L. McClain, of Lathrop & Gage LC, practices principally in construction
and commercial litigation. Mr. McClain has handled business and
construction disputes involving claims for breach of contract,
fraud, negligence, unjust enrichment and other violations of contractual
and other rights.
Michael G. Norris is a member in the law firm of Norris & Keplinger LLC. For many
years he has served as general counsel for the Olathe School District.
He also serves as a Commissioner on the Kansas Commission of the
Governmental Standards and Conduct.
G. William Quatman is an attorney with Shughart Thomson & Kilroy PC, and a licensed
architect. He is legal counsel to the Kansas City Chapter of the
American Institute of Architects and teaches construction law
courses through the University of Kansas School of Architecture
and Urban Design.
Richard H. Ralston is a shareholder/director at Polsinelli, White, Vardeman & Shalton.
He is regularly engaged as mediator or arbitrator by corporate
counsel, law firms and insurance companies. He frequently serves
as a court-appointed mediator and as a privately retained judge
in summary jury trials. He is certified as a mediator in federal
and state courts in Missouri.
David B. Raymond is a partner with Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP. His practice
emphasizes construction law and commercial and personal injury
litigation. In addition Mr. Raymond is a licensed professional
engineer in the State of Missouri and received an MBA from Rockhurst
College.
Richard D. Rhyne, Craft Fridkin & Rhyne, heads the firm's active litigation section
which represents waste management, construction contractor, insurance
and surety bond companies. He is a frequent lecturer to professional
and industry groups on construction and environmental law topics.
Anthony J. Romano, Polsinelli, White, Vardeman & Shalton, concentrates his practice
in the areas of commercial litigation, employment law and construction
litigation. He has represented clients in a variety of industries
and his primary litigation practice focus is in the areas of construction
and employment-related matters.
