Bruce P. Babbitt, Program Chair, is a partner in the firm of Jameson Babbitt Stites & Lombard, where he heads the construction law department. He represents public and private owners, design professionals, general contractors and subcontractors on public and private construction.
James F. Nagle, Program Chair, a partner in the firm of Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker LLP, represents contractors and mediates disputes between the government and the prime and its subcontractors. Mr. Nagle is one of only three experts who received an SJD in government contracts.
John P. Ahlers, a partner with Barokas, Martin, Ahlers & Tomlinson, concentrates his practice in the representation of owners, general contractors, architects, and engineers in litigation, arbitration, board hearings, and mediation. Mr. Ahlers also has a master's degree in construction engineering and management.
Joseph C. Calmes is of counsel to Hanson Baker Ludlow & Drumheller PS . He concentrates his practice on the construction industry representing contractors, sureties, suppliers and owners. His clients range from small local specialty contractors to large national general contractors and sureties.
Geoffrey P. Chism is a partner with Chism Jacobson & Johnson PLLC, where his practice is concentrated on solving complex commercial disputes, particularly in construction and real estate. He has acted as lead counsel on commercial litigation, and has been a leader in the use of alternative dispute resolution.
Thomas D. Cochran is a principal with Witherspoon Kelley Davenport & Toole PS, where his practice concentrates on commercial, construction, government contracts and design professionals. He is involved in state, federal and ASBCA level of litigation and has mediated Alternate Dispute Resolution cases of up to $10 million.
Paul R. Cressman Jr., a partner at Short Cressman & Burgess PLLC, chairs the firm's Construction Industry Practice Group. He represents general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and owners involved in public and private construction projects.
A. Richard Dykstra is a partner at Stafford Frey Cooper PC. His areas of practice include appellate practice, insurance coverage problems, civil procedure, property damage litigation, product liability defense, and commercial litigation.
Mike H. Ferring is a partner with Ferring Nelson LLP. Prior to entering private practice he was Corporate Counsel for S.J. Groves & Sons Construction Company in Minneapolis. He represents contractors and public agencies in litigation, arbitration and administrative hearings.
David C. Groff is a founding partner of the Seattle law firm of Groff & Murphy PLLC. His practice emphasizes construction law, government contracts, and complex dispute resolution. He is a contributor to Proving and Pricing Construction Claims, Second Edition.
Peter H. Haller, Ater Wynne LLP, concentrates on environmental and natural resources law. He represents clients in complex environmental litigation and regularly advises them in real estate acquisitions and land use permitting.
Greg Harris is the principal in charge of the Seattle office of Ater Wynne LLP. His practice involves all aspects of construction law and he also serves as mediator of construction matters as well as arbitrator through the American Arbitration Association. He wrote the construction law courses for the AGC.
Arnold R. Hedeen, a partner at Hedeen & Caditz, focuses on construction and government contract law and general civil litigation. He represents owners, prime contractors and construction trade associations. He is coauthor of Washington Lien and Bond Claim Handbook and Public Contracting in Washington.
Jerry C. Jewell is President of Associated Construction Consultants, Inc. He provides assistance in contract claim analysis (assertion or defense), negotiation, litigation support and expert witness testimony. His clients include contractors, public and private owners, design professionals and construction managers. He also serves as an arbitrator, mediator and Dispute Review Board member.
Andrew W. Maron, Short Cressman & Burgess PLLC, devotes his practice to construction and commercial litigation and municipal law. He represents owners, contractors and subcontractors in all phases of construction projects. He has been a council member for the City of Bainbridge Island since 1991.
Alan R. Merkle, a partner at Stoel Rives LLP, practices in the areas of construction and design law, government contracts and utility matters. A registered professional engineer, he represents owners, contractors, suppliers, architects and engineers in the drafting, negotiating and administration of contracts as well as dispute resolutions.
Karin L. Nyrop is an Assistant Attorney General with the University of Washington Division of the Attorney General's Office. She represents the University's Capital Projects Office and Purchasing Department. In addition she advises the University Public Records Office, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and other entities.
J. Craig Rusk, a partner with Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker LLP, is a member of the firm's Construction and Public Contracts Law group. He represents clients in all phases of their projects from contract negotiation to dispute resolution and his clients include general contractors, specialty subcontractors and international engineering firms.
D.K. "Kirby" Wright, Jr., formerly of Hintze & Wright, is corporate counsel for CH2M Hill, Inc., an international consulting engineering and construction company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. His duties include management of the company's domestic and international professional liability and construction litigation.
