Faculty


Stephen M. Dorvee, Program Co-Chair, is a partner and chair of the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group at Arnall Golden Gregory LLP. He has extensive experience in computer and Internet related litigation.

John P. Hutchins, Program Co-Chair, is a partner at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP where he practices in the area of commercial litigation, focusing specifically on technology issues. He has significant experience in litigating disputes arising from the use of information technology and intellectual property.

Bruce A. Abbott is a litigation partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where he focuses his practice on complex business litigation with an emphasis on technology and intellectual property.

Robert A. Berger is in-house litigation counsel for BearingPoint, Inc., focusing on technology litigation and arbitration domestically and in the European Union. Before joining BearingPoint, he was a partner in the litigation group of Winston & Strawn, concentrating on IT implementation litigation.

Bruce P. Brown, a partner with McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, is a trial and appellate lawyer representing clients in complex commercial and constitutional litigation involving computer technology, software development, media, business divorces, partnership and shareholder disputes, securities class actions and more.

Philip Y. Brown is a partner in the Litigation Group of Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. where he practices commercial litigation with an emphasis on complex business matters. He has appeared before municipal boards, state and federal agencies and state and federal trial and appellate courts. He is also a certified mediator who has worked by court appointment.

Walter H. Bush, Jr. is a partner with Arnall Golden Gregory LLP where he conducts a litigation and trial practice in a variety of areas including media and First Amendment matters, toxic tort and environmental law, telecommunications, transportation, medical malpractice and general business litigation. He recently served as lead trial counsel in a CERCLA cost recovery case where the court ruled an $18 million judgment in favor of his client.

David Dabbiere has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Manhattan Associates, Inc. since 1998. Prior to that time Mr. Dabbiere was employed by the Proctor & Gamble Co. as Associate General Counsel responsible for intellectual property matters.

Martin J. Elgison, a partner at Alston & Bird LLP, is the founder of their Intellectual Property Practice. He is currently the Co-Coordinator of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Groups and the leader of the Intellectual Property Transactional Group. Mr. Elgison has served as lead counsel in patent, trademark, copyright, trade dress, trade secret and false advertising litigation.

Richard L. Gabriel is a partner at Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, Denver, Colorado, where he practices in the areas of general and complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, and products liability litigation, including class actions and appeals. He has substantial experience in the litigation of contracts involving intellectual property and technology.

Bryan G. Harston, Vice President of Bowne DecisionQuest, a trial strategy, research, and graphics consulting firm, heads DQ’s Dallas office. A former litigator and patent attorney, he is admitted to practice law before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and the state bars of Texas and Colorado. Harston and his team have developed trial presentations for cases from virtually every kind of controversy, including patent infringement.

Daniel A. Kent, Of Counsel at Jones Day, practices in the field of intellectual property litigation and counseling, including patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret matters. He is also a member of the Intellectual Property and Litigation Sections of the ABA.

Larry H. Kunin is a partner with Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP where he focuses on technology and computer litigation, intellectual property, corporate and commercial litigation. He is frequently sought as an author and speaker on the subject of technology law.

Eric J. Marandett, a member of Choate Hall & Stewart’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group and Litigation Department, focuses on IP matters with an emphasis on patent infringement litigation. His recent and extensive experience with patent infringement includes technology as diverse as laser marking systems and earth screening devices.

W. Michael McCracken, Principal Research Scientist in the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, is also the Director of the Center for Information Management Research and the Associate Director of the Software Research Center.

Ellen G. Ray is Counsel with King & Spalding LLP’s Private Equity Practice Group. She has extensive experience in technology and business process outsourcing transactions, licensing transactions and the formation of strategic alliances. Her expertise in licensing transactions includes traditional software licenses, with maintenance and support, content licenses and ASP agreements.

Denis T. Rice, a founding member of Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin PC, practices in a broad range of legal areas and has been listed in “Best Lawyers of America” both as a corporate lawyer and business litigator, and most recently, as a cyberlawyer. His experience includes Internet & e-Commerce law, including start-ups and intellectual property issues. Mr. Rice is the founding Chair of the Committee on Cyberspace Law for the California State Bar.

Daniel S. Schecter is a litigation partner with Latham & Watkins in their Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group. He concentrates on IP and technology litigation, often handling a variety of matters throughout the U.S. Dan represents vendors and purchasers of sophisticated enterprise software and systems integrators who implement that software.

David T. Schultz is a trial lawyer with Halleland Lewis Nilan Sipkins & Johnson, P.A.. His litigation practice focuses on intellectual property, health care and commercial litigation. He has represented clients in a range of IP litigation including trademark/trade dress infringement, unfair and deceptive trade practices matters, patent infringement and trade secret litigation.

Nagendra (Nick) Setty is a partner at Jones Day where he is in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. His practice covers all aspects of intellectual property counseling and litigation, including patent, trade secret, trademark, and copyright matters, with particular emphasis on complex patent litigation.

Chelton D. Tanger is a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP based in Atlanta. He devotes the majority of his professional time to providing business and financial advice to attorneys and their clients throughout the litigation process.
