Joseph M. Beck, Program Co-Chair, is a Partner at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. He has been elected a Trustee of the Copyright Society of the USA, is listed in “Best Lawyers in America” for copyright and entertainment law and is an Adjunct Professor at Emory in the areas of First Amendment and Intellectual Property Law. He recently was named Advisor to the Copyright Monitoring Program in Russia on the subjects of music, publishings, theater, and electronic publishing.

Lawrence K. Nodine, Program Co-Chair, is an Officer of Needle & Rosenberg PC engaged in patent, copyright, and trademark litigation and licensing. Since 1988, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at Emory University School of Law in the areas of Intellectual Property Law and Computer Law.

Anthony B. Askew is a Partner at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. He practices exclusively in the area of patent, trademark, and copyright law. Mr. Askew has been Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia for intellectual property matters since 1983. He also is a member of the University of Georgia Law School’s Advisory Board for the Journal of Intellectual Property.

Joseph R. Bankoff is Senior Litigation Partner at King & Spalding and chairs the firm’s Technology Law Practice Steering Committee. His intellectual property litigation experience includes multi-district patent litigation and technology, marketing, and content disputes issues involving e-commerce and Internet firms.

Jerry B. Blackstock chairs the Litigation Department at Powell Goldstein Frazer & Murphy LLP. He has been featured by the National Law Journal as one of the thirty “Top Players in High-Tech Intellectual Property” in the United States; is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in both Business Litigation and Personal Injury Litigation; and was recognized by Atlanta Magazine in March 2000 as one of the Best Lawyers in Atlanta in Business Litigation and Personal Injury Litigation.

Ernie L. Brooks is a founder and managing partner at Brooks & Kushman PC where his practice spans all areas of intellectual property of clients ranging from individual investors to Fortune 500 corporations. He currently represents the Ford Motor Company.

David O. Carson is General Counsel at the United States Copyright Office.

Robert A. Currie is Chief Counsel for Intellectual Property at Georgia-Pacific Corporation. The company holds approximately 400 patents and 1700 trademark registrations worldwide. He currently serves as the Chair of the Licensing Committee for the State Bar’s Intellectual Property Law Section.

Stephen M. Dorvee is a Partner at Arnall Golden & Gregory LLP. He focuses on commercial litigation and intellectual property protection with an emphasis on copyright, trademark, unfair competition, patent, and computer law.

Sandra J. Evans is Vice-President and General Counsel at BellSouth Intellectual Property Corporation and BellSouth Intellectual Property Management Corporation. Those corporations manage and market BellSouth’s intellectual property holdings.

Rick R. Fuentes is an Industrial-Organization Psychologist and Director of Trial Consulting Services for DecisionQuest in Atlanta. He has consulted to in-house counsel and trial attorneys on over 600 high risk and complex civil and criminal cases and has assisted in settlement analysis, case strategy preparation, witness preparation, juror profile development, and jury selection.

Kevin C. Gallagher is Senior Counsel at Interface, Inc. Headquartered in Atlanta, Interface is the largest commercial carpet manufacturer in the world.

Geoffrey Groshong is a partner at Miller Nash LLP. He concentrates on bankruptcy matters, insolvency workouts, and restructuring. He represents debtors, creditors and companies and individuals purchasing assets out of bankruptcy estates. He is a Chapter 7 panel trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington.

Michael D. Hobbs, Jr. specializes in intellectual property and technology matters at Troutman Sanders LLP. He is involved in all types of intellectual property registration, licensing, and litigation processes throughout the United States and internationally.

Stephen H. Kalos is a Vice President at Charles River Associates, Inc. He has testified or consulted in cases involving patent infringement, patent misuse, trademark infringement and delimitation, and misappropriation of trade secrets. He also has calculated damages in a wide variety of cases.

Sherry M. Knowles is a Partner at King & Spalding. She represents companies, foundations, and universities in patent prosecution, contracts, and licensing relating to pharmaceutical, biotech, and chemical inventions. She has obtained or assisted in the procurement of more than 100 U.S. patents as well as a large number of corresponding foreign patents.

David L. Lange is Professor of Law at Duke University where he teaches courses in intellectual property, copyright, trademarks, unfair competition, entertainment law, and telecommunications law and policy. Prior to joining the Duke faculty, he worked as a writer, producer, director, and production coordinator in radio, television, and motion picture production. He practiced law with an emphasis on media law and is a founding member of the ABA Forum Committee on the Entertainment and Sports Industries.

Melinda A. Marbes is a Partner at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. She is a member of the Financial Restructuring Practice Group and concentrates her practice in bankruptcy and business.

Christopher Schenken is IP and Technology Counsel at United Parcel Service. His responsibilities have included UPS’s Internet presence, systems development, technology acquisition, IP and technology aspects of strategic investment, and managing UPS’s world-wide IP portfolio.

Nagendra Setty is an Officer at Needle & Rosenberg PC. His litigation practice covers all substantive areas of intellectual property.

Caroline W. Spangenberg is a Partner at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. She practices in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and has extensive experience in product liability, insurance coverage, and indemnity disputes.

David J. Stewart is a Partner at Alston & Bird LLP. He concentrates on trademark, trade dress, copyright, anti-piracy, rights of publicity, and advertising litigation and counseling. He has authored numerous professional articles, including “The First Amendment and Rights of Publicity: Is Parody a Legitimate Defense to Rights of Publicity Claims?” Southeastern Intellectual Property Newsletter of Law and Policy (November 1997). He also is the Vice President of Jonesheirs, Inc., which owns the exclusive right to the commercial use of the name, image, and likeness of the famous golfer Robert Tyre (“Bobby”) Jones, Jr.

Chelton D. Tanger is a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP based in Atlanta. He devotes the majority of his professional time to providing business and financial advice to attorneys and their clients throughout the litigation process.
