Tuition

Regular tuition for this program is $995 with a group rate of $895 each for two or more registrants from the same firm. For government employees, we offer a special rate of $795. For students and people in their job for less than a year, our rate is $497.50. All rates include admission to all seminar sessions, food and beverages at breaks, and all course materials. Make checks payable to Law Seminars International.

Cancellation & Substitution

You may substitute another person at any time. We will refund tuition, less a $50 cancellation fee, if we receive your cancellation by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. After that time, we will credit your tuition toward attendance at another program or the purchase of a Homestudy. There is a $25 cancellation fee for Course Materials orders and $50 for Homestudy orders.

Continuing Education Credits

This program qualifies for 12.7 NM CLE credits. Upon request, we will apply for CLE credits in other states and other types of credits.

Steven Michel, Program Co-Chair, is Energy Program Senior Attorney for Western Resource Advocates, an environmental law and policy center in that does work in the interior West. Previously, he was general counsel for the New Mexico Industrial Energy Consumers.

Robert M. Pomeroy, Program Co-Chair, partner at Holland & Hart LLP, is chair of the firm's Energy & Telecommunications Practice Group and represents independent power producers, consumer groups, and large electric consumers. He is in "The Best Lawyers in America".

The Hon. Marc Spitzer, Special Address, is a Commissioner at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, where his mission is to insure that ratepayers have safe, economic, and reliable supplies of electricity and natural gas and transparent, robust and competitive wholesale energy markets.

Frederick R. Eames, partner at Hunton & Williams LLP, focuses on legislative advocacy and government relations in energy, environment and financial services. He led a utility industry coalition effort to gain federal provisions promoting transmission infrastructure expansion.

Sandra Ely, Environment and Energy Policy Coordinator for the New Mexico Environment Department, manages the state's climate change initiative. Previously, she was New Mexico's Air Quality Bureau Chief.

Rick Gilliam, Managing Director, Western States Policy for SunEdison, LLC, oversees solar policy development in the Western U.S. He was the principal author of Amendment 37- the renewable energy ballot initiative in Colorado.

Paul C. Gomez, Colorado Public Utilities Commission, First Assistant Attorney General, provides chief legal counsel and representation to the Colorado Public Utilities Commissioners in adjudicative and legislative matters.

Robert D. Kahn, Ed. D., veteran public affairs consultant, directs the Northwest & Intermountain Power Producers Coalition, an independent power advocacy group representing over 4000 megawatts of renewable and thermal capacity.

Mike King, Senior Vice President, NERA Economic Consulting, is experienced in electric wholesale markets, electric utility restructuring, strategy regulation and wholesale energy markets.

Robert E. Kondziolka, Manager of Transmission Planning at the Salt River Project, is Chair of Southwest Area Transmission Regional Planning Group, and Vice-Chair of the Planning Coordination Committee for Western Electricity Coordinating Council.

Teresa Leger de Fernandez, managing partner at Nordhaus Law Firm, LLP, works with tribes and tribal utilities on infrastructure development, right of way negotiations, energy assets acquisitions, and financing.

Jason A. Marks is Chairman of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission which sponsored and passed renewable energy rules creating diversity targets for solar energy and distributed generation, with cost caps to protect consumers.

Greg Nelson is Director of Generation Development, Environmental and Land Services for PNM in Albuquerque. He manages the development of generation facilities from concept through completion as well as oversees environmental and land programs and operations within the company.

The Hon. Gary Pierce is a Commissioner with the Arizona Corporation Commission. Previously, he was in the Arizona House of Representatives and was Majority Whip 2005 - 2006 and a member of the Environmental, Natural Resources & Agriculture Committee.

Tom Plant is Director of the Colorado Governor's Energy Office. Previously, he was in the Colorado legislature and was chairman of the Appropriations Committee and Joint Budget Committees.

Joanna Prukop, Cabinet Secretary at the New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department has led the department in a statewide effort to promote conservation and clean energy projects.

Ken Reif is the Senior Vice-President/General Counsel of Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association Inc. Tri-State is member owned and provides wholesale generation and transmission to 44- member distribution providers.

L. William Staudenmaier, shareholder at Ryley, Carlock & Applewhite, P.A., represents clients, including electric utilities, in securing and protecting water supplies for industrial, commercial, agricultural and municipal uses.

Fred Stoffel, Vice President of Marketing at Xcel Energy Inc., is responsible for the operating companies' energy efficiency, demand response and environmental products. Xcel Energy is the nation's number one retail supplier of wind energy.

Kurt Strunk, Senior Consultant at NERA Economic Consulting, focuses on strategic, regulatory, and corporate financial issues in the natural gas and power sectors.
